Duties: Oversee production of EarthSmart Kitchens (ESK), an organic food provider to schools; coordinates and produces all ESK menu items; ensures all products meet ESK standards, expectations, and philosophy; participates in new recipe development. May be asked to travel to off-site locations to unveil new products, demonstrations, and trainings. Qualifications: Must be have 1-2 years supervisory and food experience; 2 years experience with customers in a service-oriented environment; experience with high volume cooking, knowledge of nutrition, able to work independently, Illinois and Chicago Sanitation license, good verbal and written communication skills, knowledge of MS Office with intermediate knowledge of Excel, experience training small to medium sized groups. Physical demands include: the ability to stand for 7 or more hours, lift up to 50 lbs., exert up to 50 lbs. of force, repetitive hand usage throughout the day, withstand work environment of cold and hot temperatures, handling items of variant temperatures, grasping, gripping, pinching; walking, pulling/pushing, stretching, squatting, bending, twisting, and reaching. Hours:Work Monday through Friday, but must have a flexible schedule. Prefer 2-3 years experience in quantity cooking; good written and verbal communication skills; basic math skills; sound judgment; professional attitude; and Illinois Sanitation License or be able to obtain one within 6 months of hire. Physical demands include: the ability to stand for 8 or more hours a day, the ability to frequently bend, twist, pull, push, stretch, and lift (including overhead lifting); withstand work environment of variant temperatures; handling items of variant temperatures; lift up to 50 pounds and exert up to 50 pounds of force. Hours: Weekend availability a must.
